Any reassurance?From: Jan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 1 Apr 2001 18:38:42 -0500 (CDT)
I am a worrier. I have one healthy 18 month old and had an early miscarriage (at 6 weeks) a couple of months ago. I am again pregnant (10 1/2 weeks) and (other than my husband) haven't told anyone yet. I have had 2 ultrasounds and the baby measures right on and the heartbeat looks good (last saw it at 10 weeks), my OB couldn't find the heartbeat with doppler then, presumably because I have an ovarian cyst that is kind of in front of it all. Anyway, I wanted to tell all at 12 weeks but I don't see my OB again until almost 14 weeks and I want to hear the heartbeat shortly before the big announcement. My question is- how much less is my risk of miscarriage at 13 weeks than it is now? Also, I am thin but have very little tummy at this point, is likely that I will be visibly pregnant to those who know me at 14 weeks? (I wasn't with my daughter but I keep hearing that subsequent pregnancies you show very early.) Thanks very much.
