Tubal motility, progesterone and Ectopic pregnancyFrom: Anne (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2001 20:59:34 -0600 (CST)
Hello, Here is some background info: 30 years old, 2 normal pg's,ttc #3, went off bcp (Alesse) 07/00, started ttc 10/00, got pg second cycle trying, was Ectopic. Metho 12/25/00, did not work, salpingostomy 01/01/01 @ 7weeks. Surgeon said tubes, ovaries looked very healthy and EP was a fluke. My cycles pre-EP 30 days, with spotting starting at 9dpo (12-day LP). ob/gyn said EP was probably caused by low progesterone, put me on Prometrium 200mg/day O-AF. Last cycle my LP was 15 days and spotting started at 12dpo (first cycle taking Prometrium). However I read that tubal motility can be affected by high, not low progesterone? In this case is it wrong for me to be taking Prometrium, am I asking for another EP? Last cycle the progesterone gave me a perfect triphasic chart with high temps. I thought this was an improvement?? Thank you very much for responding,
-- Anne
