please forgive me this stupid hemorroid question...From: Nicole (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 31 Mar 2001 01:46:20 -0600 (CST)
I'm 39 weeks pregnant and started getting hemorroids a few months ago, and they started getting worse last month when my doctor had me start taking an iron supplement....so that I'm now more constipated than I thought anyone could be.... Anyway, the hemorrhoids don't hurt and don't ever bleed, but they are on the outside and seem big...and just the idea of them grosses me out, and I really want them to go away! The problem is that I just can't get up the nerve to mention them to my doctor. I was hoping that at some point he would do an internal exam and then maybe he'd bring up the subject himself, but so far he hasn't said or done anything related to an internal exam. So now I'm wondering if maybe when I actually have the baby, some kind doctor or nurse might just see them and suggest doing something about them. Can I count on that happening? It's so stupid....but I simply can't imagine that I'm ever going to have the nerve to bring up the issue on my own!
