Another Question on fetal heart decelFrom: Julie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Mar 2001 08:44:12 -0600 (CST)
All the doctors here have been great (in addition to my regular OB) at giving me information on this, but needless to say..need yet even more info..I have posted before regarding my baby having decels below 100 at times (usually not lower than 90) with quick decel and quick recovery, usually within 10 seconds. (basline 140-150) It resembles a V on a fetal trace. I am currently 27 weeks (28 tomorrow :) I went for a second opinion yesterday to ease my mind about this...the OB said this is NOT normal and does not know what to think??? He said if there was something wrong there was nothing he could do anyway..they'd have to have a doctor try and do something in the nursery after birth. Now I am not sure where to turn at this point. I truly do trust my OB, I justed wanted some peace of mind, which I certainly didn't get fromt the second opinion, which I guess happens when we as patients need to know too much! Should I seek an additional 3rd opinion, or is their documentation that these quick, large drops are typical even in the beginning of the third trimester...very worried and appreciate any information. Julie
