Kelly Shanahan, MD, : "Re: lower Leg pain at 23 weeks, concerned" Hello, I have terrible lower leg pain. It feels like growing pains/numbness. I have only gained 8 pds and I have no swelling. My mother said that she had the same problem when she was pregnant and it developed into a pulmonary embolism (she almost died). Should I advise my Doctor. I've had a pretty good pregnancy so far, but my lower legs hurt all the time. They hurt to sit, stand, lay down. I elevate them but it doesnt seem to matter. I am 5'4 and normally 108 pds.
