Can infection be the culprit???From: Mo (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 30 Mar 2001 06:02:22 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I am 8 weeks pg (YEAH !!!) I had a mild yeast infection that lasted about 4 days that I had chosen not to treat, after the infection seemed to pass I had noticed my urine started to smell quite foul, this went on for approx. a week and a half before I had my first prenatal appt. I had an u/s and did get to see the baby's h/b. and proceeded to explain to my provider the urine issue, I had no other symptoms except VERY foul urine, I had a routine urinalysis and low and behold there was moderate bacteria, I am now on macrobid, they also said I had candida in my culture so suggested I treat it. I haven't had any symptoms and havn't begun treatment as of yet. after all that my question is: I had my appt on a Friday late afternoon, pap & cultures. Tuesday after a light excersise I had a copiuos amount of mucousy rootbeer colored discharge, cleaned myself up and didn't have anything again, what could have caused this?? 1) Friday's internal ??? (4 days later??) 2) The exercise (rootbeer is old blood yes??) 3) The bladder infection??? I am trying to maintain a positive attitude and not run to my ob, but have may underlying fears as my last baby died at 12 days from a heart defect and I m/c'd at 8.5 weeks before him. should the rootbeer colored discharge merit a visit to my ob?? sorry about the epic length and thankyou for your time. Monica
