If you have renal involvement with your Lupus, he will probably refer you to a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist first. The purpose of that visit would be to discuss the effects of pregnancy on Lupus with renal involvement. This can be a very serious and life threatening complication.

Ask what the workup will consist of and what is the plan.
