Hi Lana, I have Lupus, too and had my first baby last September. It took us 3 1/2 years to conceive. They told us that we'd most likely only be able to get pregnant with IVF (not becaus of the Lupus, but a male factor), which we didn't have money for so we just gave up on that idea and went on with our lives--low and behold we got pregnant on our own and I now have a very happy, healthy 6 month old.

Anyway, they will most likely test for all kinds of antibodies that are sometimes associated with Lupus that can cause miscarriage (anitphospholipid antibiodies, Lupus Anitcoaugulent, and some others I can't remember). The RE will also probably order a semen analysis for your husband and may want to schedule an HSG to see if your tubes are clear. He will probably talk to you and do a pelvic at your exam. He'll ask a lot of questions about your general health and your husband's health. My RE set up a consult with a MFM doctor at that first appointment, too to discuss possible problems with Lupus and pregnancy.
