40+3 weeks......induction????????

I am 40+3 weeks pregnant with my 4th child. For two weeks I have had BH contractions off and on, and pain in my lower back wich feels like back labor. Any little bit of walking causes the contractions to begin and my stomach begins to feel crampy, but when I sit again, everything goes away. I have already lost my mucous plug. At my last appt.(last Friday), I was dilated to a3, 70% effaced, and the head was at a -2. The midwife said I should deliver any day, but if I didn't deliver by my next appt.(tomorrow) she wanted to schedule me for induction. She didn't give me any medically necessary reason as to why she wanted to schedule me for induction. I have been induced with two of my other children without any complications, but I have been reading lately about the risks of inductions and was wondering if I should wait a little longer to see if I go naturally or if there is any reason to go ahead with the induction at this point. Also, is there anything I can do that is safe to help labor along?
