to cerclage or not to cerclageFrom: Nicole (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 26 Mar 2001 11:48:45 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I posted a couple weeks ago. Am a high risk pregnancy due to small uterus/DES exposure. Went in for an ultrasound at 14 weeks to check cervical length - turned out to be in normal range so the maternal fetal specialist opted not to do a cerclage. I will be having ultrasounds every week to monitor the cervical length. My question is, does an incompentent cervix present itself gradually or all at once? Is there a certain point in the pregnancy when a cerclage can't be done anymore? thanks.
