I am currently 38 weeks preg. and was 3 cm 80% for 2 weeks now have been 4 cm, 80% for a week. With ds#1 labor occured naturally at 43 weeks :) but i wasnt sure i was really in labor until my contractions were 2 min apart. When I got to the hospital I was 6 cm. with him and that was with starting at ground zero! I have been having contractions for weeks now and I am afraid I am not going to go in time. We live about 30 min. from the hospital (with no traffic). I am also afraid of not getting there in time for an epidural :0) My question is, should I ask doc to be induced, and if so do they go ahead with the epidural first? I am not a friend of pain, and also what is a good narcotic in case i am too late for the epi? thanks for all your help!
