29 weeks pregnant with cervical length of 1.7 cmFrom: Rita (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 24 Mar 2001 18:20:44 -0600 (CST)
I am 29 weeks pregnant and have been on bedrest for the past four months because I have a third degree uterine prolapse (I have a pessary in for that). Ten days ago my ultrasound cervical length measurement was 2.7 cm (2.4 cm with val salva). Three days ago it was checked again and it was 1.75 cm (no val salva was done this time). My doctor was not in town this week, but her associate said I was okay for now with continued bedrest, because I showed no funneling. They're rechecking with another transvaginal ultrasound this coming week. Do you think any other intervention is necessary at this time? (I was told that I am at high risk of preterm labor and further cervical thinning may lead to hospitalization with mag sulfate and steroidal therapy for the duration of my pregnancy.)
