Re: PCOSFrom: Mary (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 23 Mar 2001 09:54:35 -0600 (CST)
Don't worry about being unable to conceive as there are so many new things out there to help. I'm 35 and was diagnosed with PCOS in my early 20's. I'm also now 14 weeks pregnant with my first child. My endocrinologist had me on metformin (glucophage) to regulate my cycles in order to conceive and it worked after 4 months. Of course if it hadn't we were ready to hit the fertility treatments. It works for some and some it doesn't but at least there are options. (I was told while in my early 20's that I would never have children....would love to show up in that doc's office when I'm 9 months pregnant!!) Search the websites as there are several PCOS sites with tons of info. Good luck!
