Estring and breastfeedingFrom: Fionna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 22 Mar 2001 18:16:50 -0600 (CST)
My Ob/Gyn has prescribed an Estring (estrogen ring) and said that it should not affect my milk supply or my breastfeeding child, but I have found one source which says one should never breastfeed while using an Estring because the estrogen can make its way to the breastmilk. I am nursing a six week old male child who was born six weeks premature, and am wondering if anyone can help me understand more fully the risks, if any, to my child and my milk supply if I use the Estring. Many thanks! Fionna
