advanced maternal age...From: eva (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 21 Mar 2001 09:03:14 -0600 (CST)
Hello doctors, What is the oldest age that women can reasonably expect to conceive and bear a child at? I don't mean miracles or pregnancies via egg donors or GIFT or other technical means. I just mean a regular old standard pregnancy. What is the "average oldest age" at pregnancy (with good outcome) you see in your clinics? I am curious because I will be 41 in 2 months and would like to know how much time I have left to TTC....of course I am worried about Down's, etc. as well, and have found lots of info on the internet about probability of Down's at specific maternal ages. But I have found no info on the probability of getting pregnant at those ages! Thanks for your time!
