2nd pregnancyFrom: AM (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 20 Mar 2001 07:33:38 -0600 (CST)
My son is 6 months old and I am pregnant again--not exactly planned, but okay. My first pregnancy was very difficult. I had GDM, hyperemisis, acitive lupus and was in the hospital for two weeks after he was born with pyleonephritis and kidney stones (7 of them). I am currently dealing with a low grade Lupus flare. My questions are--how will being pregnant again so close to my first affect this pregnancy? I am taking prednisone (20 mg/day) to control my Lupus--How does this drug affect early pregnancy? One more, on Feb. 27 I had surgery to remove the last kidney stone from my pregnancy. I took a urine preg. test the day of my surgery and it was negative, but now I am pregnant. How will the general anestetic affect the developing embryo? I don't want to go see my OB (a MFM doc) because he told me to wait 2 years before having another baby. I feel like I know what I'm doing being pregnant because I was just barely there. When should I begin seeing my OB this time around? Thank you for your help!
