Before I got pregnant I started using Proactiv Acne Solution which contains a 2.5% concentration of benzoyl peroxide. When I got pregnant I asked my regular OBGYN about it and she said it was okay to keep using it. I think her rationale was that the concentration is low, and a facial wash is unlikely to penetrate so far into the body that it could cause injury to a fetus. I'm sure women have done much more risky things than using a facial wash and they had healthy babies, but I wanted a second opinion nonetheless. (I've never used Accutane or Retin-A, which I always knew to stay away from).
