Di, Are you talking about the catheter they put in your back with the medicine or a Foley catheter to drain urine? In my experience, I didn't have a urinary catheter until they decided to do a c-section, but I did have one in my back through which they administered the medicine. I ended up not needing a c-section at the last minute because they pulled the baby out with a Vacuum Extractor and I honestly can't remember if I they took the urinary cath out or not. I know they left the epidural catheter in because they dosed up my epidural before they used the vacuum.
