The test line does have a correlation with the amount of hcg in the urine. However, you are very early pregnant and your hcg level verifies that. I would follow your docs orders as the 48 hour doubling is the utopian ideal, but I think we all have had patients that do not follow this curve and still have successful pregnancies. Thus we do not always push for the 48 hour testing in all cases. Hope this helps.
