PG & PINK SPOTTINGFrom: Taye (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 17 Mar 2001 09:05:22 -0600 (CST)
Hi, I'm 17 wks pg & I noticed some slight pink "spotting" yesterday. It only happened twice & it was pinkish on tp when wiping (after I went pee). There was no blood, no red or brown discharge... just looked "pink" on paper after wiping(I've had no internal exams or intercoures prior to this). I NEVER had spotting with any of my pgcy. So I called office and went in. Baby's heart rate was 136 & cervix was closed & tight. But midwife said I MAY have the beginning of a slight yeast infection so said to use Monistat 3. I'm assuming it's safe or midwife would not have said to use it? And I'm in my 2nd trimester, so that should make it safer to use, right? Also, is it common to spot after having an internal exam? I was told to rest and lay down as much as possible for the next week. My OB is away for the next few days & I never saw the midwife before, so I'm just looking for a professional opinion. Is Monistat safe during 2nd trimester & what could pink spotting be from? Is this normal? Thank you so much!
