Because I am high risk for Downs, my DR suggested amnio earlier in my PG. I refused because I was already a threatened miscarriage, so he suggested the triple screen instead. I missed the 20 week deadline to get the test done. (oops!) Now I am starting to rethink my decision about the amnio. I am at 29 weeks now, is it too late for an amnio? If not, how high are the risks for early labor? It wouldn't be for termination of the PG, more just because I want to be ready if faced with a DS baby. Also, can the DR tell a baby has DS at birth? Thanks
