Compared to the 50 lbs I have put on (with no complications like diabetes or eclampsia) your 13 pounds doesn't sound like "ballooning up" to me at all! I would normally put on 10 lbs of water gain each month with my period (and it isn't that much, really). I would think that a 31 week baby, amniotic fluid, and other pregnancy things would account for more than your pitiful little 13 pounds of weight gain!
