What are the chances Ill dilate early again? From: MES (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 8 Mar 2001 18:30:33 -0600 (CST)
This is my 3rd PG. First one I dilated 4 weeks before EDD, started at 1cm went to 2 and by due date was 2 1/2 cm, 50% efaced, but NEVER went into active labor by myself, had to have Pit three days after DD. 2nd baby I dilated 6 weeks before EDD, first at 1cm, 2cm and 60% two weeks before due date, up to 3 1/2 by due date. Water broke on due date but had to be induced due to no contracting OR pain by the next day. I'm thinking I will dilate early again, and HOPING I will get to experience labor without being induced this time. Just wondering, how close to due date do doctors usually do the first internal exam? (I have a new doctor) Anyone think that maybe I will go by myself this time or will history repeat itself AGAIN?! Another thing, I am already high risk for preterm labor (problem pregnancy), does my history of early dialtion raise that risk even higher? Thanks in advance!
