Marchbein, M.D.: "Re: Itchy skin" I am 34 weeks pregnant, and have had itchy skin for about 2 mos now. My belly and breasts itch, which I know is normal from the skin stretching, but spots on my arms and legs itch as well. I have no rash, but sometimes there are bumps that appear after I itch. My daughter has intrahepatic cholestasis (liver disease), and I know there is such a thing for pregnant women. I am concerned that I have it, I asked my OB at my last visit, she said it was not PUPP, but is was normal, hormones probably. DO you think I should have her test my liver enzymes? Do you think from what I described this is abnormal? Do you think this means the child I am carrying has liver disease? Please answer these questions for me, I am worried sick!
