Post-Partum Menstruation

I am three months postpartum and for the first 2 mos. I was without a menstrual cycle but I did have the discharge that I would expect to have having just had a baby. (mine was c-section) Then abrubtly the d/c stopped and I thought the residual uterine lining shedding from the birth was over. However two weeks later I had what I thought was a menstrual cycle and all the symptoms seemed to be a "period" including the type of d/c. After about a week it stopped so I presumed it was indeed my menstruation coming back as it started back on schedule as it had prior to becoming pregnant. Now, two weeks later, I have more d/c which started out as brownish, and then is a few days later, brighter red. Is it my period again? I am breastfeeding so I had thought that as long as I breastfed I may not have a period at all. I am very curious as to what I should expect this soon after having a baby. Can you please help?
