Rising HCG Level after MiscarriageFrom: Marsha (anonymous@obgyn.net)Fri, 2 Mar 2001 23:20:44 -0600 (CST)
I found out I was pregnant, and hours later, began spotting with pain. This was about 31 days past LMP. I had a blood test which indicated an HCG level of 6400. That same day, I had more pain and passed solid whitish colored tissue with a blood clot, but not much blood. The next day, my HCG level dropped to 1403, and my doctor was sure a miscarriage had taken place. But 1 1/2 days later, my HCG level rose again to 3740. Is it possible that I didn't miscarry afterall, or what could have caused such a high rise in my HCG level in such a short time? What is going on with my body? I'm so sad and confused, so any advise or help would be appreciated. Marsha
