Tracy, Congratulations on mommyhood! I am actually 6 weeks pregnant w/ my second. My first was born via C-section, so I was not allowed to even take slow walks around the block until 2 weeks after his birth. I took it easy for the first 6 weeks. I think we earn that right to rest for a few weeks! Between breastfeeding, good diet and walking, I lost all 50 pounds by the end of 4 months. That does not mean that I was in good shape. Skin still hangs there, and the ribs and hips are still moving back into position. While I was back into my old clothes within 3 months, I did not get back to my pre-pregnancy fitness level until my baby was about a year old. It was a lesson in patience, but then you're pretty busy with really important stuff, so you don't really notice. Good luck.
