Cristina, The egg develops inside a cyst and ovulation in everyone is the result of this cyst rupturing. The egg comes flying out and is picked up by the fallopian tube. following ovulation, the cyst of ovulation forms the corpus luteum which supports the pregnancy through approximately 10 weeks when the placenta takes over...
