Have you ever had a patient describe contractions or the beginning of labor as "cramps?" I've had cramps, really hard hurting cramps, since about 4:00AM this morning (it's now 11:15AM)but I haven't felt anything that feels like contractions. This is my first child and don't know what to expect. I was 2 cm dilated and 80% effaced one week ago at my check up. What would you tell a patient that called you with these symptoms?
