Re: Placenta PreviaFrom: Vera (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 28 Feb 2001 10:03:44 -0600 (CST)
Dear Kris,
>I'm curious to know at what point in a pregnancy does this At 17 weeks' gestation, evidence of placental tissue covering the cervical os will be found in 5% - 15% of all patients. However, more than 90% of these will resolve by term. Total placenta previa diagnosed in the second trimester will persist into the third trimester in only 26% of cases. Therefore, patients should be followed up with serial sonography in the last trimester to determine whether the previa persists to term.
>Also, I'd like to know what restrictions you would put on your patients Sounds that your doctor's advices have covered everything.
