fifth disease pos. IgM and preg.From: amy (http://anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 24 Feb 2001 09:45:07 -0600 (CST)
I am in my 13th week of pregnancy. Approx. one week ago I was given a positive test result for having fifth disease. The test was IgM positive for a recent infection. I didn't have the rash but did have various joint stiffness and headaches for 8 straight days. I'm no longer having joint stiffness. However I am still having dull headaches that come and go throughout the day. Other than this current condition I have always been healthy except for having Anemia which I am currently taking iron supplements for. Also, I have had two previous successful and uncomplicated pregnancies. Two healthy children as a result. What should my concearns about this fifth disease infection and this pregnancy be? What are the risks? What's the percentage chance of miscarriage? What's the chances of the baby developing anemia? How long is this in my system and will this cause any problems in the future if I have more children? Thank you for all your help and infomation.
