methotraxate ethics and emotionsFrom: alison (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 14 Feb 2001 09:50:33 -0600 (CST)
Could someone please help me understand any ethical issues associated with methotrexate. Also, I found it very difficult to get what I thought was going to be a routine shot, but I was not prepared to hear some of the things I did. It is very difficult to deal with, and I don't think that doctors always know what to tell patients about it, since they probably don't understand it much themselves(being such a recent drug). ANyway, I was also wondering if there are any sites for dealing with these issues or in handling grief associated with using this drug. I was ectopic, and felt that this was the best choice, and I still do, but I still have doubt and guilt about it. I almost feel like it is an abortion drug, even though with an ectopic, your choices can be this drug, surgery, or death. Thank you. Alison
