Hi,

I had a miscarriage 2 years ago. I got pregnant on the pill. The miscarriage was Found at 12 wks, but baby stopped growing at 8. Tested blood afterwards, progesterone low. Waited til Oct. 2000 to try again. Dr. told me didn't have to wait 3 months off pill, just go ahead and try first month. Well, they tested me one month later and I was pregnant. I was taking prometrium day 15 through 28 and just continued taking. Progesterone level was 23 in blood levels.

However, my blood levels did not double every two days (first 200, then 300. Then 700, then 770. ) so dr. said miscarrying. I had a D&C that Friday, but after the D&C my levels rose to 2000. He figured tubal, so gave me a shot of methyltrexate. Well, the numbers kept climbing. 3 weeks later, 7000. He did ultrasound, found it was a corneal pregnancy (he only saw one in his whole career), so we waited again to see if we peaked. My levels went to 3500, but then wouldn't go lower. He did another ultrasound (he was going to do tubal ligectomy) and the sac had moved into the center of the Uterus, so I had to have another D&C (this is 6 weeks after the first on). It was a total nightmare.

Now, he says the two were unrelated, and to go ahead and try again without any further testing. I have one 3 1/2 year old, he was premature and I had placenta acreeta with birth (hemorhaged and almost bleed to death)..... a D&C stopped the bleeding.

The absolute only thing that has changed since the birth of my son is that with him I waited the three months off the pill before trying, and I have a more stressful job.

Could you please give me your opinion? My mother seems to think I should see an endocrinologist.
