At 33 weeks I was having contractions and they dilated me to "a fingertip" I was only at 50% effaced then. My Dr. immediately put me on bedrest and brethine. Now at 36- 1/2 wks my dr has taken me off of brethine and bedrest. I am currently still a fingertip but 90% effaced. Can you tell me what exactly a fingertip means? I assume it is even less than 1cm. However with me being 90% effaced will that speed things up once I am complete?
