?Luteal Phase defect

Hi,

First a brief history. We have been ttc to 10 months and i have recently been diagnosed with PCOS from findings from Ultrasound scan and am waiting for repeat FSH and LH levels. My first FSH and LH bloods were normal, my Prolactin has been high on first results, second results normal. My Progesterone was low on both occassions. My cycle is irregular ranging from five-eight weeks. My last three cycles have been between 5-6.5 weeks so they have become shorter lately and my period is not so heavy or clotty as they have been in the past but last between 6-9days starting off with about three days of brown discharge, then bright red for a couple of days then back to light brown. I have started to chart my temps and basic fertile signs. I have observed my fertile cervical mucus and CM changes throughout my cycle, OPK's have detected LH surges but i tend to get a positive for a week. With my temps, this month i think my baseline is around 36.5-36.6 exerience ovarian twinges when i think i might ovulate and this month my temp was 36.6c about 3 days prior to assumed ovulation then it dipped to 36.4c the next day then peaked to between 36.75c-36.85 consistantly for about 12 days. However i started to bleed 5 days ago and started to dip slowly down to 36.7c and now back down to 36.4c.

Looking at my chart, my luteal phase looks like to be 9 days and even though the temp did not drop dramatically when my period started and remained above baseline for four days during my period, it is now starting to drop down to 36.4c now that i am on day 5.

1) Can PCOS cause Luteal phase defect? 2) What treatment is normally used for this? 3) My last cycle was 6 weeks and 3 days and i had all the signs of pregnancy from about week 3. Swollen tender breasts, slight frequency of urine, bloatness, headaches, nausea, feeling of impending period with that dull achy sensation i normally get when AF arrives but it did not. When i then started that period, i passed two clots of which one did look like a very tiny embryo, could then that mean that i could of had a miscarriage due to low progesterone? 4) this cycle just gone was 5 weeks and 3 days and i did not experience the feelings i did from my last period before that. Apart from since charting my temps, it does look like the short LPD as mentioned. So can PCOS effect implantation as well if pregnancy exceeds beyond the start of implantation, is there still a risk of miscarriage?

Sorry this is long winded, but any answers greatly appreciated.

Regards
