Healing from a 3rd degree tear--doctor's advice MORE ?s

Thanks to Dr. von Almen for your reply--I have a couple more questions.
My pain is VERY localized to the spot of the second tear and really only
there. Also, since the birth of my son I have had some fecal
incontinance--is this likely related to the tears. How long before this
improves? How long should I wait before I go to see a doctor? I was seen
during my entire pregnancy by a MFM doctor; if my condition doesn't
improve, should I call him back (he's only an OB) or should I see one of
his gyn associates?
