A concernFrom: Heidi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 5 Feb 2001 18:08:06 -0500
I am currently 19 weeks along, I've been fighting sinus headaches for a month or so. I have a runny nose (drainage is clear), cough ( sometimes tan colored phlegm) and a very sore throat ( I assume from some of the drainage and coughing). I started taking Sudafed Cold and Cough this morning, seems to help with some of the symptoms but not all. When I cough sometimes it is with such force that I get sharp pains in the lower part of my abdomen. My concern is, since I am carrying low ( 3rd pregnancy) will any of my coughing (forceful ones with lower abdominal pain) cause any concern for the fetus, other than disturbing his/her little world? I'm prone to bronchial asthma, and normally get it each winter. My second pregnancy I delivered in December so I wasn't pregnant at that time. Is there any prescription medicine that is safe to take for BA, or will I just have to wait it out, take Sudafed, drink fluids etc.? Thanks! Heidi
