Problems with Bicornuate versus SeptateFrom: Angela (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 3 Feb 2001 11:28:14 -0600 (CST)
I have had two pregnancies. First went into labor and delivered healthy boy at 37 weeks. They discovered I had a septum during that pregnancy. Second pregnancy, confirming septum and that placenta partly attached to it. I lost my baby at 34 weeks. I just had an HSG and discovered I have a bicornuate uterus. It is pretty deep, almost completely to separate uteruses, shaping like a V. Some say a septum is worse and some say bicornuate is worse. I know that surgery on a bicornuate is nearly not welcome. What are the dangers of bicornuate compared to septate? Also, since that muscle in the middle is SO thick compared to a thin muscle in a septum, does this still have an inadequate blood supply if the placenta is attached to it?
