miscarriage questions??

I was diagnosed with a threatened miscarriage over a week ago. I had some bleeding with clots and the baby's heart rate had decreased over a two-day period(108 to 95). My doctor said to just watch and wait and to follow up in about a week. Well, tomorrow I go back. I have actually had a decrease in my bleeding to just very little spotting without any clots and with some days of no bleeding at all. I only have very mild cramping for about 2 hours out of the day(about the same time everyday at which time the bleeding is at its heaviest, which is still not very heavy and the cramps are like mild gas pain). I am curious if after over a week nothing has happened, is there still a chance for a miscarriage(could the baby have died and my body still not miscarry it?) However, if I find out tomorrow that the baby is not alive, what happens next? Do I wait for the body to miscarry(if so how long is customary) or do they usually do a D&C? What if the baby is still alive, but say the heart rate is way down? Do they still consider this a viable pregnancy and continue to wait? What if everything is great and the heart beat is normal, am I out of the clear? I would like to be as prepared as possible when I go to my OB tomorrow, so any help or opinions would help.

Oh, by the way, I am supposed to 7 weeks and 2 days tomorrow. Thanks for all the help that this forum has given me over the last week with my endless questions. I am hoping that tomorrow I have some answers and can get out of this limbo that I have been living in the last week and a half. Wish me luck. Jenny
