You can't compare the injuries to a normal vaginal delivery because the vacuum is being utilized cause a normal delivery isn't possible. One would assume that if the vacuum is being used and then is not successful, the alternative is a cesarean section. So then one must compare the risks of vacuum to a cesarean. In this case, a vacuum is certainly safer for the mother than a cesarean. The same is true of forceps... Lynn
