The accuracy of any human endeavor is only as good as the human responsible. In the hands of the best practitioners, the diagnosis of an absent skull is as close as we get to perfect. Is 14 weeks an ideal time to determine this? It can be depending upon the circumstances fo the patient's size and the quality fo the equipment and the skill of the operator. The question of abortion is another matter. However, most states have now recognized the absence of the skull and brain as an indication, medically, for abortion.
