answers t several questionsFrom: fiona (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Jan 2001 19:40:58 -0600 (CST)
To both sarah in the U.K. and Tamara, I live in the U.K. and it is normal here to have a positive pg test then a first appointment at 16 weeks of pregnancy at the hospital...at this point an u/s is performed to ascertain growth rate +abnormality, alongside this Hb levels are taken, alpha-protein levels, blood type and immunity to measles, after this first exam the next appointment with the hospital is 32 weeks, in between one sees ones own G.P. or clinic every 4 weeks unless one has a high risk pregnancy, then you have to attend the hospital clinic every 4 weeks instead, post 32 weeks one has to attend every 2 weeks, no matter where until delivery. I posted to the site a few days ago stating that with normal preganancies in this country hormone levels apart from positive Hcg aren't routine.......if you look at the archives you will see the reply, which is great for medicine in the U.K. 0
