Breach deliveryFrom: Allison (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 30 Jan 2001 14:38:01 -0600 (CST)
I would like to question anyone re: breach delivery. My sister-in-law is having a baby in about three weeks. The baby is breach at this time. She has been given instructions on how to try and get the baby to turn. The question I have is, "If the baby does not turn on its own, should the doctor turn the baby at delivery (labor) or do a c-section." What is the standard? What is safe for the baby? We've never had a situation such as this and wondered if it is safe to turn a baby during labor using hands or suction. Thanks for your response.
