Scary - still flowing after 23 days???

Started to flow on Dec/24/99 & my doc said I was probably having a miscarriage. U/S results at 12 wks indicated fetal demise at 8 wks. An ERPC(Evacuation of retained products of conception)was done. No problems after surgery. Conceived again on Oct/17/00. U/S at 12 wks (Dec. 28) - same results. It was a missed miscarriage this time. Had same surgery on Jan/4/01. After flowing for more than 1 wk, another U/S was done on Jan/12/01. The U/S indicated what appeared to be a gestational sac (??????) so blood tests were ordered. Jan/19/01, I was advised that the pregnancy hormone in my blood was high for someone who had just had an ERPC. As a result, none of the docs involved want to commit to anything at this point. More of the same blood tests were done on the 19th and I was told that if the levels go up, this will be considered a viable pregnancy for now, but if they go down another ERPC will have to be done. Meanwhile, I am still flowing (heavy for me at times, i.e. filled a maxi pad in the space of a few hrs & can feel it gushing out at times & its scary). Can't even think about the loss now - just need to know I will be well again. The idea that I might be pregnant following this surgery just defies all logic to me. Any insight you could provide me with would be so greatly appreciated. I am just beside myself at this point.
