Re: Pregnant and pelvic pain normal?From: Tamko (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 25 Jan 2001 12:31:34 -0600 (CST)
Elise, No I do not see any veins that may be causing this. I did see my Maternal and fetal medicine doctor this week and he said it sounds like my pubic bone is separating some. He basically told me to just kind of take it easy, take some Tylenol, and perhaps warm bath soaks to ease the pain. Unfortunately he told me that this most likely will continue all the way up until deliver time :(. I know today it seems to be at its worse as I can hardly stand to sit long, walk (climbing stairs is really bad), or even lift a leg to put shoes, etc on. Today I have even felt pain radiating down both of my upper thighs. The pain seems to be getting worse instead of better. The doctor said it may be from the way I'm carrying the baby (lower) or that it might be a larger baby than my previous two. I just wish I could get relief from this. Plans are to induce labor at 37.5 weeks (as long as the amnio comes back showing lungs are developed) due to a medical condition I have that makes me high risk....however, I just don't know if I can endure this pain for another 4+ weeks *sigh*
