Is there someone out there whose hpt did not show postive until she was over 8 weeks!

Has anyone heard of any case where the person felt like she was pregnant
but every time she took hpt test, it was always negative, but it
eventually turned positive after she was far long(after 8 weeks.) Thats
the way I feel, I have all these symptoms but hpt is negative(3 times)
If I am pregnant, I would be 8 weeks. I did have a period (or bleeding)
1/3/01 but I think my real last period was 12/5/00. So my question is
"Is it possible to be 8 weeks and hpt still shows negative.
