Cramping/Pain/Pressure at 18 weeksFrom: Megan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 22 Jan 2001 12:58:39 -0600 (CST)
Throughout my entire pg. I have been experiencing cramps, much more on my left side than on my right. I asked my OB about it and he indicated that it is likely round ligament pain and it is common to be more on one side than another due to the way the uterus rises. This past week, I started experiencing a strange sensation (not pain, more like pressure) right under my sternum. I have also started to feel more cramps behind my pubic bone and what seems to be like shooting pains up my vaginal walls and in my cervix. To top it off, last night, when trying to get comfortable in bed, I had a cramping/tightening sensation that ran from my pubic bone straight up to where I would guess the top of my uterus is (belly button area). My questions for you are: 1) Are any of these items related or are all of these normal aches and pains? 2)What could the possible cause of the cramps behind my pubic bone and what seems to be my vaginal/cervical pain? 3) Does my OB's explanation of my one-sided pain make sense (I am worried about a cyst)? 4) Should I be concerned? This is my first pregnancy and am somewhat clueless and very worried since it took 20 months to conceive. Thanks much for your time - I appreciate your response.
