On eye drops and trying to get preg. From: Adrianna (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 18 Jan 2001 13:04:19 -0600 (CST)
Thanks for taking my question. I am trying to get pregnant but am currently on Timoptic and voltaren each once per day in my left eye. I hvae glaucoma and inflammation in my left eye but very little vision so the point in taking them is to prevent further cosmetic deteriration, loss of what little vision I have, and pain prevention. My eye docs all say there are no known side effects and I should keep taking them. I read all of the literature accompanying the meds and see that the only tests are on mice and rates and have infact shown some side effects. I want to play it safe. My acupuncturist said I should at least stop for the first trimester. Any advice? ALSO-how soon before attempting to conceive should I stop them?
