This may not be the best place for this question, but this forum helped me so much when I was pregnant,I'm noping you can help me now. One week after the birth of my son, I came down with a terrible kidney infection and was in the hospital for a week and on IV antibiotics at home after I was released. I had four kidney stones when I was released from the hospital. My problem is 4 months later I still have the same UTI (pseudomonas). I saw an infectious disease doctor and he wants me to take Cipro for 6 weeks to get rid of the infection. My problem is that I don't have prescription insurance and I can't afford the $80/week for the medicine. I've taken shorter doses (3, 7, 14 days) of samples the doctor has given me, but I can't afford to buy the medicine and the shorter doses kill the bacteria, but it always comes back. Is there any other way to get rid of the infection or any other way to get medication or a cheaper medicine that's effective against pseudomonas? I'm in a lot of pain and desperately want to feel better. Thank you for your insight.
