Pregnancy and PinwormsFrom: Cylla (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 4 Jan 2001 01:22:01 -0600 (CST)
I am only in my third month of pregnancy and suffering terribly from pinworms. There must be a lot of them, because I can see and catch some of them. I was told that Vermox (Mebendazole) is out of question during the whole pregnancy and I should eat raw onions and garlic (ha ha - that's just what will ease my morning sickness). My questions: 1. Isn't there any other way to get rid of pinworms? 2. I found one of the worms at the entrance to the vagina, could they really crawl up there and cause a vaginal infection or worse enter the cervix and cause harm to the baby? 3. I heard that an enema of diluted vinegar may help with this, is it safe to do this in pregnancy?
